In Memorium
– Glenda Dew
When my phone rings before 7 in the morning, it’s unusual and when
I don’t know the number I do worry a little, today when it rang it was with the
worst news that I did not want to hear, blokes don’t cry or have tears in their
eyes but my eyes welled, as they are now, as, I was informed of the passing of
Glenda Dew, wife of Terry, and mother of son Kevin and daughter Karen, all
present at the Lyell McEwin hospital at 11pm on the
29th of July 2008.
Terry asked for this sad news to be put here as he could not ring
to tell everyone as it was too much for him, my mum passed away at the same
hospital, I thought it would be just a matter of ringing family and friends to
say mum had passed away, but when you make that first call, the pain and
memories flood past your eyes and you choke in sadness and find you can’t do
it, so I like most, understand why Terry asked for his sadness to be advised
and shared here with the cruiser club.
I’m sure there is not one club member
reading this that does not share Terry and his family’s sadness and how they
feel right now. Please share your thoughts and send a message to be displayed
on the following pages to convey to the Dew family. So please email rob@berlinwall.com.au with your
thoughts and I’ll post them here as soon as I can, I’m sure Terry and family
will read them in due course.
THE FUNERAL SERVICE for the late Mrs. GLENDA DOROTHY
DEW will be conducted at 4 p.m., on MONDAY, August 4, 2008, in the Acacia
Chapel, Enfield Memorial Park off Browning Street, Clearview. Glenda requested
a "bright" Celebration of Life. Flowers appreciated. In
the care of WHITE LADY FUNERALS Hillcrest 8266 7100
Karen Dew has advised that
three cars will leave from her house straight to the Chapel where the full
service and cremation will take place, members may
wish to wear their cruiser club gear which the family will appreciate. Members
who also want to present their bikes alongside the Chapel would be more than
appreciated.
A number of us plan to
meet at my shop, 305 Morphett Street ADELAIDE between Gouger &
Wright streets, at 2.30pm, on bikes, to slowly make our way to the Chapel, so
please, if you have a bike and want to join us, let me know or simply rock up,
departure will be around 2.45pm.
